A revolutionary SunWatch ... accurately measures
the intensity of Ultraviolet rays on the internationally accepted
UV Index
|

SunCast UV Monitor (SunWatch) continuously measures the amount
of Ultraviolet you are receiving from the sun even on cloudy days
and in water. It is a waterproof, eye catching watch as well as
a UV radiation detector and comes with cord, clip and skin analyzer.
Wear it on your wrist, around your neck, or fix it to your bag,
hat or clothes. Take it with you whenever you go outdoors, whether
you are sunbathing, skiing, or swimming. SunCast is available
in a range of fashionable colors, to suit every member of your
family. Being out in the sun is something that we all enjoy. On
our vacation we all like to get a fantastic suntan and all too
often we forget about the harmful effects of the sun until it's
too late. SunCast is designed to assist you in obtaining a safe
suntan without agony and pains of the sunburn or over exposure
to UV rays.
The
more sun you get, the higher your risk of skin cancer, U.S. researchers
said in a report they claim is the first to show an individual's
cumulative risk of melanoma. Many studies have linked sun exposure
with skin cancer, but the team at the National Cancer Institute
said their research was the first to show the intensity of sunlight
a person receives over a lifetime is directly related to melanoma
risk. Read the entire news article

In
three easy steps
- Enter
the skin type obtained from the skin analyzer (provided)
- Enter
your sun lotion factor (SPF)
- Make
sure the watch is in the sun with you
|
| The
above three simple steps allow the SunCast to automatically calculate
and provide you with a reading as to the intensity of the sun at that
moment, and the maximum possible time that you can spend under the
sun without burning. A beeper alarm will sound to indicate when your
safe sun time is up. SunCast keep track of the amount sun you have
been exposed throughout the day. When your safe tan time has expired,
an ALARM will sound. |

The Hole Reached 10.5 Million Square Miles Overhead |
The
protective ozone layer has been destroyed by chlorofluoro
carbons CFC, chemicals used in air conditioners, refrigerators,
and aerosol cans. On this October day, the hole is enormous.
In September 19th, 2000 it achieved the largest
size ever observed. Satellite images revealed what looked
like a spinning blob covering 10.5 million square miles,
occasionally wobbling an arm over southern Chile and Argentina.
The ozone hole shown here in purple gaped widest in September.
The impact on life is still being studied.
