The PNI Wayfinder compass model V7000 has patented Magnetic Sensor Technology and weather station all in one. It shows you the way and predicts the weather, as well.  This WayFinder 3-mode compass shows direction on its bright LCD display with compass rose, 8 cardinal points and in 1° numerical accuracy.

The WayFinder V7000 has auto shutoff; when vehicle is parked, magnetic interference signal, and its photo diode senses light conditions and turn the back light on/off automatically. Ice alert warns of freezing conditions.

AUTO SHUTOFF
If the WayFinder V7000 does not detect a magnetic change of 15 degrees or more in 10 minutes, the "auto shutoff" switches off the unit, saving the settings and power. The lack of magnetic changes usually means that the vehicle is parked. The "auto shutoff" is disabled if you are using your 12 volt car adapter or if you have the unit hardwired. The Wayfinder V7000 compass is currently the only unit which lets you override the "auto shutoff"
